United Forces by The New Division is a new collaboration for increased focus on sustainable development.
Where Good Forces Come Together
In 2015, world leaders agreed to the 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development. These goals have the power to end poverty, fight inequality and stop climate change. Three years later, enthusiasm for sustainable development is stronger than ever.
Hosted by The New Division, United Forces brings together civil society, public and private sector, academia and culture to transform that enthusiasm into concrete action. The inaugural United Forces was held at May 16, 2018 in Stockholm.
Premiere, May 16, 2018
The inaugural United Forces took place at Alma in Stockholm on May 16th 2018. Among the panel speakers were Ambassador and former Deputy Secretary-General of the UN Jan Eliasson, CEO at Berghs School of Communication Camilla Wallander and Secretary-General of Axfoundation Carolina Sachs. The event opened with the official launch of the expanded communication system for the Global Goals that now includes the 169 targets.
The launch was followed by three panel discussions, where the first panel, Creative Forces, centered around how creativity can help to transform complex and important societal and scientific information into clear and understandable communication. The second panel, Strategic Forces, focused on the role of the private sector in sustainable development and the third panel, Mobilizing Forces, discussed how we can encourage our citizens to take action for a more equal, peaceful and sustainable future.
